vitaminbVitamin B Complex supports healthy nervous system function and strengthens the body to help during periods of stress and anxiety.  Vitamin B complex contains eight B vitamins as well as a couple of other related substances. The eight vitamins are thiamine (B1),  riboflavin (B2),  niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6),  cyanocobalamin (B12),  folic acid,  calcium pantothenate and biotin. The other related substances that can also be in the B complex vitamin include choline bitartrate,  inositol and vitamins C and E.  I must say here that I am a great fan of inositol for anxiety relief as I know it works for me.

Every part of this complex vitamin has it’s own exclusive purpose but it is when they work together as the Vitamin B Complex that it offers important maintenance for the body to remain healthy. The B vitamin complex contains B vitamins which are water-soluble and it is important that enough of these vitamins are consumed on a daily basis. The body cannot store water soluble vitamins such as this one and this leads to a frequent intake being required.

We all need to eat, but the problem starts when you eat for comfort when you are anxious or stressed.  Stress and anxiety can be a bad aspect of your life if you react to it by overeating.  This can lead to weight gain and health problems as well. I was one who was a comfort eater and when things went wrong for me I would take pleasure in my food.

Finding out what your stressors are is very important so you are aware of why you are overeating.  Sometimes we can’t change the stressors eg a bereavement but we can control how we react to it.  We often hope that the comfort we get will make the underlying problem go away but unfortunately it just makes it worse or creates other problems.
