vitaminbVitamin B Complex supports healthy nervous system function and strengthens the body to help during periods of stress and anxiety.  Vitamin B complex contains eight B vitamins as well as a couple of other related substances. The eight vitamins are thiamine (B1),  riboflavin (B2),  niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6),  cyanocobalamin (B12),  folic acid,  calcium pantothenate and biotin. The other related substances that can also be in the B complex vitamin include choline bitartrate,  inositol and vitamins C and E.  I must say here that I am a great fan of inositol for anxiety relief as I know it works for me.

Every part of this complex vitamin has it’s own exclusive purpose but it is when they work together as the Vitamin B Complex that it offers important maintenance for the body to remain healthy. The B vitamin complex contains B vitamins which are water-soluble and it is important that enough of these vitamins are consumed on a daily basis. The body cannot store water soluble vitamins such as this one and this leads to a frequent intake being required.

Moving on after panic | living a normal life

I really cant say that I am cured from, and that I have succeeded in overcoming panic attacks. If I let my anxiety levels rise then it is a possibility that I may have another panic attack. The difference is now that I don’t fear it. I know how to work through it.

overcoming panic

dont panic

Overcoming panic attacks hasnt been a quick fix for me and I dont think too many people can say that it has been for them either. I worked on it, and as I have said in previous posts, I took one step at a time and now I feel I have succeeded.

Looking at life through positive eyes has been something that I have to work at but I am much better at it now than I was in the beginning. It’s like anything that has been a habit, it takes time to change. Life has opened up to me again and I am happy, which is probably a result of that positive outlook. Read the rest of this entry »

Canopy of a forest

I have been using visualization techniques for awhile now to achieve stress relief which in turn keeps my anxiety levels low.  Through a mind technique like imagining my favorite sounds, sights and smells I can put myself into a more calm state and often it lifts me up to a happy and positive mood for the day.

My favorite “happy place” is a rock pool on a white sandy beach.  I imagine sitting in the rock pool with the waves coming in and feeling the warm rush of water relaxing me as it washes over my body.  I can hear the rhythmical sounds of the waves crashing on the shore around me, the warm sun on my skin and the smell of the fresh salty air.

rainbowcolourPeople who handle stress in their lives show a very important trait, and that is, confidence.  Being confident affects your life in a lot of ways.  Confidence helps you make decisions and achieve goals and overall improves your control over your life because you believe in yourself.  Being confident also in your abilities is a very big part for stress relief techniques.  If you are confident that you can succeed tn then you aren’t afraid to act on your dreams and desires.

These people also approach problems differently from those that don’t handle stress well.  They are optimistic about the outcome and their ability to do something and not just worry over the situation.  They think of alternatives to their problems and take action.  If you do nothing and just worry about your life then the situation will never change.  This is a big solution for stress relief for a lot of people.

Relaxation is so important in keeping anxiety at bay but it can be quite difficult to maintain.  I work at keeping my stress levels down and music I found is great for this.  This is a great video and it has great music.  Please take some time out to put on some headphones, sit in a relaxed position, turn off your cell phone, close the doors and listen to this video.

This is a 26 minute video so you will definitely feel yourself relaxing. Save it to your computer and you can listen to it as often as you want.  Just remember that the more you watch and listen the easier it will become to keep your stress levels down. Read the rest of this entry »

stress free

On top of the list for living a healthier life in 2009 will be to  balance  my life with less stress and anxiety by getting the right amount of rest and relaxation.   I must say here that I am not OLD (except to my grandchildren)  but just feel that way lately.  I know I will live longer if I increase my muscular strength and reduce stress in my life starting this year.

Laughter is one of the best things for your mental and physical state especially with stress related anxiety and I will try to see the funny side of situations where I can.  People are naturally attracted to someone who has a good sense of humor.  You can develop a good outlook and a good sense of humor by associating with and surrounding yourself with pleasant happy people and that is something that I can do for myself. Ive never heard of Autogenic Therapy until recently and I’m sure most people haven’t.  Well what is it?

Autogenic Therapy (also called Autogenic Training) is a relaxation technique involving self suggestion which was developed by the German psychiatrist, Johannes Schultz and first published in 1932.  It is a powerful and proven deep relaxation technique similar to mediation, which enables you to relax your body and calm your mind quickly.  Autogenic therapy is one of the simplest and most effective ways to activate the ‘relaxation response’ which can break the vicious cycle of stress related disorders.
