In healing anxiety you must remember that a magic cure or pill does not exist. This is not to say that healing rates are low. Both patients and medical professionals have taken healing anxiety to high, encouraging success rates often using a natural anxiety remedy.

It is important to remember that all your professional help should have one goal: to establish the belief that you have the power to control your body as well as your life.

Methods that you can do yourself include stress management techniques such as meditation, getting sufficient exercise or other physical activity and proper eating properly. I also find that taking a good vitamin B complex and evening primrose oil has helped me as well. Read the rest of this entry »

Did you know you can breathe your way through anxiety?

As you get older you no longer get the same amount of oxygen to your lungs as you used to when you were younger.  If you shallow breathe like I do then you will build up more carbon dioxide in your lungs.

When you are anxious you also rapid breathe which not only can lead to overall tiredness but is not good for your heart.  It only takes about 5 minutes a day to freshen that stale air that is accumulating and this you can do anytime of the day but at night time these exercises will also relax your for a better sleep.

Panic awayPanic Away is a digital course in the form of an eBook and is written by Joe Barry.  The fact that it sells in the form of a down loadable eBook means you can start right away without waiting for a physical product to arrive in the post.  It is based on a natural technique to help you stop panic attacks and get rid of anxiety once and for all.

The course is based on cognitive behavioral techniques which in my opinion is the best method to conquer panic.  Barry being a former sufferer has developed this One Move Technique which doesn’t involve baking any medications, is a natural one which is one of the things I like most about it and is written in simple language I can understand.

Fluoxetine HCl 20mg Capsules (Prozac)
Image via Wikipedia

Prozac (Fluoxetine Hydrochloride) is a antidepressant and is considered by many to be the best anti anxiety medicine out there and that is probably because it is the most popular.  Prozac was a phenomenon when it first came out.  It is also often used for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety,  Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder as well.  Prescribing Prozac for anxiety relief also has its negative aspects.

Prozac controls the balances of serotonin levels in the brain and is called a Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor (SSRI). Serotonin is a chemical that affects your moods.  It is very popular and gets a good percentage of people who take it report relief from anxiety disorders or depression.  Despite all the positives the drug takes time to work and there have been reports of side effects.

Some are concerned about the possibility of addiction with prozac.  Just like other types of anti-depressants, prozac has the potential to be addictive.  Other types of side effects reported by users include headaches, insomnia, nausea, abnormal dreams, changes to appetite, diarrhea, and sexual dysfunction.  Most of the time the side affects are temporary.

What are some of the other treatments aside from Prozac for anxiety relief?  Pure Psychotherapy is one of them.  It relies purely on behavior modification and relaxation techniques to eliminate anxiety symptoms.  Acupuncture  and Alternative Health & Herbal medicine are also gaining ground as natural remedies as they are non addictive treatments.

Even in the Western world, Eastern medicine has found its place in treating certain ailments and conditions.  Chinese medicine in particular is popular with various herbal formulations being sold not only in oriental drugstores but in mainstream retails stores and pharmacies as well.  One particular segment of the market that is served by Chinese medicine is those who are looking for anxiety disorder help.

Anxiety disorders are usually concerned with psychological roots and occasionally hormonal or chemical imbalances.  Chinese medicine is effective in providing anxiety disorder help owing to its spiritual roots and relaxation benefits. As an anxiety disorder help, Chinese medicine serves to counteract the negative energies that are thought to be the cause of anxiety.  These treatments include either or a combination of herbal medication and acupuncture therapy.

The majority of people experience anxiety and panic attacks at some time in their lives even if it is a minor experience. Some can find that this prevents them from concentrating, being social or continuing to work and study. There are  many ways to help cope with the condition though, and to relieve the panic attacks if they occur. What you need is an anxiety buster and breath control is your answer.

There are many forms of relaxation that are often recommended to prevent or reduce anxiety and panic attacks which may include meditation, yoga or breathing exercises but trying to relax while you are stressing is very difficult.  It is also not easy to control your heartbeat but the good news is that we are all capable of learning to control our breathing.

vitaminbVitamin B Complex supports healthy nervous system function and strengthens the body to help during periods of stress and anxiety.  Vitamin B complex contains eight B vitamins as well as a couple of other related substances. The eight vitamins are thiamine (B1),  riboflavin (B2),  niacin (B3), pyridoxine (B6),  cyanocobalamin (B12),  folic acid,  calcium pantothenate and biotin. The other related substances that can also be in the B complex vitamin include choline bitartrate,  inositol and vitamins C and E.  I must say here that I am a great fan of inositol for anxiety relief as I know it works for me.

Every part of this complex vitamin has it’s own exclusive purpose but it is when they work together as the Vitamin B Complex that it offers important maintenance for the body to remain healthy. The B vitamin complex contains B vitamins which are water-soluble and it is important that enough of these vitamins are consumed on a daily basis. The body cannot store water soluble vitamins such as this one and this leads to a frequent intake being required.

A stack of the iPods I now own... included are...

I have spoken about this online store called The Unexplainable Store before but in the last week I noticed that my anxiety levels were rising again because of a few things happening in my life at present, and so I wanted to talk to you again about how the music they sell is such a great help to me in managing my anxiety.   If something works then you should spread the news!

You know in yourself when your anxiety has reared its ugly head and sometimes it’s a surprise, and feels like it has come from nowhere, and at other times you know exactly what has triggered it.  The good news for me is that when I realize my stress levels are building, I then can go and control it and reduce it to a manageable level  with binaural beat music, and before it develops into a panic attack.

barbed_wire_5While agoraphobia is not something that directly poses a threat to life, there is a need to treat anyone who suffers from this kind of a disorder in order for them and those around them to be able to go through life normally.   Agoraphobia is a panic disorder that stems from a fear of experiencing a panic attack in a situation or location that could be difficult to get out off without experiencing embarrassment.

Agoraphobia can be treated successfully with the help of the sufferer, that is the key.  People suffering from agoraphobia normally do not know what triggers their anxiety attacks and therefore try to avoid being in places where they feel stressed and could be embarrassed by such attacks.  They usually fear being alone outside their homes, being in a crowd, traveling for long periods in a closed vehicle, or being in any enclosed area an eventually can be the fear of being afraid and losing control.
