The secret anxiety solution – Vitamin B Complex

The B complex vitamins are extremely beneficial for a number of conditions and may be necessary in extra amounts at certain times in a persons life. Many individuals suffer from anxiety and stress at one time or another and research has found that the B complex vitamin can be advantageous in helping alleviate the symptoms.   • Very informative post! I have found St Johns Wort does assist me in times of stress or anxiety. I was very sick during my pregnancies and was told this could be from a lack of Vit B so perhaps I am low… I did not know it was also good for stress levels.

    I tried everything under the sun for anxiety and depression, except Vit B complex, because my blood levels were fine… in the end after spending years and thousands i tried a liquid vit b to get the folic acid as i am trying to conceive atm and it is nothing short of a miracle, my anxiety has gone down from a level 6 on daily basis to a almost zero, i am happier, i have more energy but best thing is i am not losing my temper or patience with people because i feel better on the inside…. Vitamin B complex (i prefer liquid form) should be prescribed to anxiety/depression ppl to see if majority are helped!!! such a pity for ppl to suffer when they dont need to, i lost a lot of opportunities to enjoy life when i was riddled with anxiety and low mood and now i will not stop taking the vit b because it is my miracle!

    I am suffering from anxiety really bad and feel down at the moment it’s horrible:( i’ve tried most things and they don’t really work (resuce remedy spray has helped with panic attacks) Mine all started two months ago when I got food poisoning followed by labyrinthitis, so the vitaminB complex makes sence I am going to give this a go and will let you all know how I get on. Thank you for info :)

    I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well. It’s such a scary feeling! I was prescribed Xanax but I get SO drowsy and I basically knock out for several hours. It helps me in that moment but not on a daily basis. I want to change certain things in my life that definitely affect my anxiety so far every little thing from drinking more water to falling asleep to relaxation music has controlled my anxiety to a certain extent. I’ve started taken a Vitamin B just yesterday and so far I actually feel great! Here’s to hoping the best!

    Great post! I just started having panic attacks and anxiety. Medicines just knock me out or make me too “out of it” and I’m a stay-at-home mom to two little ones, so I really cannot be knocked out. I’ve been searching for other ways to combat the anxiety- since my anxiety is generalized, I really do not have a trigger and cannot pinpoint it, I’m just a worry wort by nature. This is so new to me, but I’ve decided to give Vitamin B complex a try, I’ve heard and read great things about it. I bought some last night, took one 50mg last night and just took one about 3 hours ago with my lunch; so far, it really is helping me. I’ll keep you updated to see if it really truly diminishes my anxiety. I assume it should take a few days to get into my system and really take affect but I do notice a difference already. My next supplement to try is magnesium. I’m also going to start a daily multi-vitamin at night because I am not a great eater and the anxiety makes me eat even less, so I’m sure my body is craving vitamins and nutrients. Great post. Thank you again! It truly is amazing the “natural” cures out there…thinking positive and having the proper nutrition really does make a world of difference. Doctors are too quick to prescribe heavy meds. Don’t get me wrong when I was having an attack, those meds helped relax me, but knocked me out for a day! Again, thank you for the post and I’ll try to post back in a few days to let you know if the Vitamin B complex is really helping.

    I’m not a doctor. I have no idea if my reaction is psycho-somatic. I will tell you I’ve been unemployed for two years. I have defaulted on my mortgage. I was waking up in a panic. Drinking. Not leaving my house. Jumping at noises. I had a constant feeling of dread and oftentimes helplessness.

    I started taking B because I was reading about natural remedies for stress. I feel so much better. The worst part about the anxiety was that it was paralyzing. I would just sit there beating myself up for things that were wrong with my life and then also feeling like I couldn’t do anything about it. It was the worst feeling I’ve ever had in my life, and it only made everything worse because the dread and guilt and fear didn’t make me fix anything. It just made me feel horrible for being in this situation and powerless to do anything about it.

    B wasn’t a magic bullet for me, but I haven’t had any anxiety since I started supplementing. I don’t do other vitamins or supplements. Just B. It’s been a few weeks and I feel like a new person. I feel able to stick up for myself, defend myself, make decisions, go out in the world, be myself, be confident. It’s weird. Like I said, I don’t know if it’s psycho-somatic. I’ve been so stressed the past couple of years that I wouldn’t be surprised if my brain is playing tricks on me, but nothing has helped until now. I hope it’s this simple. I also hope that anyone needing relief from anxiety finds it. It’s the weirdest feeling…to be scared of the world, you feel guilty about everything, sad for no real reason, irrational, fearful and jumpy. It’s horrible. I feel so lucky that so far it’s been as simple as supplementing with B for me.

    Oh, added benefit for me, cleared up my mild cystic acne! Who knew!? I’ve been trying to do that for ten years!

    i take vitamin b. it gives me energy like ive never had before. but i think fish oil helps better with anxiety than vitamin b, at least for me it does.

  • Great point! Vitamin B12 and B6 are both instrumental in the production and release of seratonin, the stuff that creates that “happy feeling”. Research has discovered that a deficiency in either of these vitamins may render anti-depression and anti-anxiety drugs ineffective.

    I love the positive feedback, especially the one about the anxiety that started after a bout of labrynthitus. This is exactly when mine started. Horrible symptoms of anxiety with a few panic attacks.. I started on B Complex and felt fine. I have recently ran out and thought that I would Try without it. Bad mistake and the B Complex has been reintroduced. Homeopathic medicine is the proper answer. Doctors seem to want to just prescribe anti-depressants to fix the problem noe get to the root of it.
