Prozac (Fluoxetine Hydrochloride) is a antidepressant and is considered by many to be the best anti anxiety medicine out there and that is probably because it is the most popular. Prozac was a phenomenon when it first came out. It is also often used for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder as well. Prescribing Prozac for anxiety relief also has its negative aspects.
Prozac controls the balances of serotonin levels in the brain and is called a Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitor (SSRI). Serotonin is a chemical that affects your moods. It is very popular and gets a good percentage of people who take it report relief from anxiety disorders or depression. Despite all the positives the drug takes time to work and there have been reports of side effects.
Some are concerned about the possibility of addiction with prozac. Just like other types of anti-depressants, prozac has the potential to be addictive. Other types of side effects reported by users include headaches, insomnia, nausea, abnormal dreams, changes to appetite, diarrhea, and sexual dysfunction. Most of the time the side affects are temporary.
What are some of the other treatments aside from Prozac for anxiety relief? Pure Psychotherapy is one of them. It relies purely on behavior modification and relaxation techniques to eliminate anxiety symptoms. Acupuncture and Alternative Health & Herbal medicine are also gaining ground as natural remedies as they are non addictive treatments.

Herbalism is known for a long tradition of use beyond standard medical care. Its evolving into a lot more mainstream as improvements in analysis and quality control along with advances in clinical research show the value of herbal treatments in the treating and preventing sickness.
Yes I agree and I see a lot more doctors also using herbal medicines that didn’t use them years ago. I think that is a good sign and I think shows the quality of the product has been improved.
