I have to beg to differ there Joshua as it does take a bit of practice but I can stop a panic attack from happening by using breath control.

Prevention is the best cure but if you get caught in an anxiety cycle and you don't realize you are getting tensed up and this has happened to me a few times, then you can use breath control to help you out of it.

Knowing you have a way of controlling them gives you the power over fearing them and this is the KEY.

Breathing may help you to get ahold of yourself when you're experiencing a panic attack but when the anxiety you're feeling is so strong, it's highly likely that you wouldn't be able to control your panic attacks.

The only effective way to overcome panic attacks is not to ignore your anxieties and fears but to change your self-image. It heavily influences the way you act and interact with people and if it's affected by how you reacted to a bad experience or an inculcated belief that someone placed in your mind, then, it's highly likely that every time you encounter a situation that reminds you of that painful experience or belief, you would feel a panic attack.

So, it's important for you to assess the root cause of your anxieties and fears, Ask yourself why you feel anxious about a particular situation. And when you are able to know the real reason for your panic attack, learn from that and let go. Always remember your past successes to fuel you with courage and confidence to go about your daily living. Use your imagination to set realistic goals for yourself and act on them. This way, you would not only be able to deal with panic attacks but completely overcome them and never feel them anymore.

I agree that controlling your breathing is important in controlling a panic attack and I have found Panic Away a great guide to help you through. I haven't tried the Linden method because Panic Away was the one I tried first and got relief.

Natural remedies are an additional help along with deep breathing. Even the Linden method for me has been the most practical and useful one on the market. It's like having a real person walk you through, step by step, not a bunch of "psychobabble". It respectfully addresses every aspect of panic you have experienced. Advice includes reasons why you might have this "problem" and how to cope, realistically.

Yes Pshhyarag I do the same. I remind myself to sit quietly and breath as much as I can during the day but its usually at night that I get the time to do it. I am glad that it works for you too. Thanks for your comment.

This is one sure fire way of reducing stress and all other related health issues I can vouch for. I do it whenever I can get a little time even in between routine activity. I have made some posts on my blog including one recently. I not only love writing but reading about this as often as possible. The links in the article are useful.
